Price note: Per session; 10-session pack
Book this class on Whitworth Racquet Club's siteFrom about $20 at the Centennial Sportsplex drop-in clinics to $45 for Hadley Park's group lessons, then $113–$130 a session for Whitworth's 10-session beginner pack. Independent coach groups run $35 per person per hour — the cheapest way to get a private-style lesson with friends.
Group lessons give you a coach, a cohort, and a lot of balls; private or small-group coaching corrects your strokes one at a time. City centers are group-first, which keeps Nashville's floor low, while clubs and independents offer both.
A racquet, water, and court or non-marking shoes. Balls are provided at every city center and clinic on this page, and Metro's centers can usually point you to a loaner racquet if you're trying tennis for the first time.
Yes. Whitworth's 10-session beginner pack and Hadley Park's all-levels lessons are explicitly built for adults coming back after a long break. The Centennial drop-ins also sort by level, so you'll be on court with peers, not 20-year veterans.
No membership or USTA rating is required at the Metro centers or with independent coaches. Whitworth is the exception — it's a private club with a membership requirement — and Lipscomb's clinic is open to the public via its pro shop.
