How Local Class Finder finds, verifies and keeps its listings fresh — and the site-wide numbers, all computed from the live data.
Where listings come from
Every listing is sourced from a public, bookable source: the venue's own website, municipal parks & recreation catalogs, or public class-listing pages with working booking links. We never generate listings, and we never publish a class we can't point to.
What must be true before a class goes live
A listing needs three things to be published: a real price (free counts — if a venue only says "call us," the class doesn't qualify), a verifiable street address for the venue, and a bookable source page. Candidates are reviewed for topic fit: an entry that shows up under one category but is actually a different activity gets rejected rather than passed along.
How listings are verified
Before going live, every candidate is checked against its source — price, schedule, address and booking link come from the venue's page, not from memory or guesswork. All active listings were re-audited in a full-site pass on 2026-08-26, and each listing records the date it was last checked. Every city guide shows its last-verified date, so you can see exactly how fresh the data is.
How listings stay fresh
Each month we re-check every listing's source page for changes and dead links. Listings that disappear get removed (old URLs redirect to the city guide), and the site is rebuilt from the data — there is no caching layer that can serve stale pages.
What we don't do
No invented courses, no rewritten scrapes pretending to be original reviews, no placeholder prices, no affiliate-driven ordering. Listings are ordered by what they are, not by who pays us (nobody does).

These numbers are computed from the same data files that build every page — they can't drift from what's actually on the site.
